EU ministers met in Luxembourg Monday to discuss the situation in Egypt, a day after violent clashes between protestors and the army resulted in 24 deaths, according to the Spanish newspaper ABC. The Ministers said the violence was the worst since last February, and are expecting Egypt to be at a new turning point after these incidents. The newspaper said over the past week sources from the European Union have warned of spread of uncertainty in Egypt's political situation. The newspaper said Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf said in a statement that chaos and riot actions are part of a conspiracy against the country and he called for the national unity. Sharaf added that the most dangerous threat to Egypt's security are threats to national unity. These threats are caused by those generating problems between Muslims and Christians as well as the people and army, he said. The newspaper added that EU Foreign Ministers are discussing the situation in Libya, Tunisia, Syria and Yemen.
