Independent theatre troupe presents 'The Backstage Musical"

Tiatro Independent Theatre Troupe will present their latest work, “The Backstage Musical,” at the American University of Cairo's Ewart Memorial Hall at 8 pm Monday.
The musical tells the story of two spirited young singers' backstage shenanigans combining show tunes, jazz numbers, and opera.
“The Backstage Musical” features the young Egyptian sopranos Amira Reda and Maysa Orensa.
The performance is directed by filmmaker and visual artist Omar Motaz Bellah and features Hend El-Shimy, Amira Reda, Summer Galal, Amgad Emam, Beco G, Fahd Ibrahim, Omar Raafat, and Sarah Khalil, who is also the playwright of the show.
Pianists Faisal Fouad and Medea Ormotsadze, violinist Ahmed Ashraf, saxophonist Mohamed Labib, and Karim Adnan on double bass will bring music to the show, along with a special appearance by Ahmed Harfoush and the Riff Band.
