Egyptian opera singers, Maysa Orensa and Amira Reda team up under the Tiatro troupe for a musical called Prima Donnas on 26 April at El Sawy Culturewheel in Zamalek. Prima Donnas is a "Musical Theatre Recital," as explained by the Tiatro Group for Independent Theatre. "The musical blends various elements: extracts from the operas, musicals and jazz," Omar El-Moutaz Bel'lah, the director of the performance told Ahram Online. "What we tried to do here is mix these styles all together, giving them a theatrical frame, revealing the beauty of all aspects of art. We chose the backstage world to be our platform, tackling different notions and concepts, such as ambition and jealousy, yet in a light and comical way." Prima Donnas will feature: Maysa Orensa, Amira Reda, Summer Galal, Hend I. El Shimy, Sarah Khalil, Beco G. with a guest singer, Ahmed Harfoush from the Riff Band. "It's kind of a risky adventure, we know, but that's what art's about!" El-Moutaz Bel'lah concluded. Performance programme: Tuesday, 26 April at 8pm. El Sawyculturewheel, Wisdom Hall, Zamalek
