CAIRO: Workers in the Public Transportation Authority resumed demonstrations in front of the Egyptian cabinet Wednesday, marking the 11th day of protests in Cairo and Giza. Tuesday, protestors decided to resume protests after their meeting with Minister of Manpower and Immigration Ahmed al-Boraei and the governor of Cairo, Abdel Qawy Khalifa. Saber Abu Sreea, member of the Independent Union of the Public Transport Authority, said all workers in public transportation announced their protest. The government requested to postpone the protest until Oct 10 to obtain a response regarding raising wages from the Ministry of Finance. Abu Sreea accused the Union committee of inciting workers to resume their protest, saying committee members said that the government does not aim to solve the crisis, but wants to prolong it.
