Representatives of public transport workers agreed in their meeting with Minister of Manpower Dr Ahmed al-Boraei, to suspend their protest until Oct. 10. The government, Cairo Governor Abdel Kawy Khalifa and Head of the General Transport Authority Mona Mostafa, agreed to this suspension. Workers decided to return to work in garages during the suspension. It is expected to hold another meeting with Ministry of Finance representatives to demonstrate preparations to increase workers' wages in the Public Transport Authority. Boraei asked the workers to prepare a study for their other demands by coordinating with the authority directors, the governorate, and the syndicate and to be finished not later than within 15 days. Workers' wages and bonuses would increase after the completion of the Ministy of Finance study, the Authority Director said.
