CAIRO – Twenty of the 22 Egyptian public transportation department garages will be joining the public transport strike, reported Chairman of the Public Transportation Independent Syndicate Ali Fetouh. “There are now 2,300 buses currently on strike and all garage workers will begin a hunger strike tomorrow if demands are not met,” he added. The public transportation department buses went on strike earlier in the week, demanding that the Egyptian Finance Minister and the Egyptian Prime Minister to approve a request incentivizing workers by 200 percent.
