CAIRO: The Israeli Army issued a report claiming all perpetrators who attacked Eilat, are Egyptian. In the attack, eight Israelis were killed and 30 injured on August 18. Israeli newspaper Maariv published the report claiming the Palestinian Popular Resistance Committees in Gaza strip recruited those Egyptians from Sinai and gave them guns and logistic needs. According to the report, the attacks at Eilat aimed to kidnap Israeli civilians or soldiers, and there were snipers opening fire the Egyptian side. Meanwhile, three groups infiltrated into Eilat and attacked the passenger buses on the road No 12 near the Egyptian-Israeli border. The report also said the Israeli army responded over death by their best Israeli sniper, Pascal Avrahamy. The army pursued those groups while Isreali soldiers killed six Egyptian soldiers along the Egyptian-Israeli border. The report shows the real identities of the perpetrators but Egyptian authorities denied the report. Maariv added the report was submitted to Egyptian officials in Cairo but officials did not discuss anything except the case of killing Egyptian soldiers by Israelis. The Egyptians called on Israel to apologize openly, according to the paper.
