The Faculty of Languages at Ain Shams University is organizing a workshop on literary translation from September 17 to September 22. The workshop aims to support young Egyptian translators from European languages, and establishing a permanent center to support the Faculty of Languages and the training of young interpreters. The workshops will include lectures on the translation of various literary genres in theory and practice, the culture of language and culture of the translator, translation, and the Arab book market. The workshop will also discuss the issue of translation via an intermediate language and other issues of interest to translators. Translators, writers and publishers can participate in the workshop. Specialized workshop sessions are divided into five languages; English, French, German, Spanish and Czech. Professors from the Faculty of Language translation in collaboration with experts from Spain, France, England and the Goethe Institute will be teaching the workshops. The workshop is supported by the British Institute of literature without borders and in cooperation with the Anna Lindh Foundation for dialogue between cultures, the EU cultural program, the Ramon Lowell Institute for translation of works in Catalan, the Institute of Finnish literature, the French Institute in Cairo and the Goethe Institute in Cairo.
