CAIRO: Egyptian sculptors are in the process of engraving the faces of January 25 Revolution martyrs onto bronze sculpture. The sculptures will be showcases either in front of martyr's families' homes or in governorate squares. Four sculptors have been commission to immortalize Ahmed Basyounni, Mohammad Mahrous, Seifulla Mustafa and Ahmed Ihab Mohammed, all revolution martyrs. The sculptors will also be collecting information regarding their martyrdom, and will use this information to describe the martyr's participation in the revolution and their ultimate passing. Jasmine Hassan recently finished the engraving of martyr Ahmed Basyounni and Tawfiq Ragaa Tawfiq said that the engraving immortalizes Egyptian heroes and cements their significance in history. Each sculpture starts with the formation of the face in Aswani mud, then is placed in a Gypsum model after which the bronze is laid over to finalize the project.
