CAIRO: Members of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood refused ministerial positions offered to them by Prime Minister Essam Sharaf. Ahmed Abu Baraka, a Brotherhood leader, said Sharaf offered five ministerial positions to members of the Brotherhood during the current ministerial reshuffle, but they refused. Abu Baraka said out Sharaf did not know their affiliation to the MB. He said the Brotherhood has announced its refusal to take any ministerial positions. His statements came during an interview on the evening talk show Fi al-Midan (In the Square). He said members of the MB refused to join the new government because they believe Sharaf's government has no vision. He said Sharaf is mistaken if he does not make a schedule and timetable to achieve the objectives and demands of the Egyptian January 25 Revolution and to develop economic and political performance.
