CAIRO: Egypt's Prime Minister, Essam Sharaf, chaired the meeting of the Supreme Committee of the Nile Water in the cabinet's headquarters that discussed the latest developments of the Nile basin countries, and how to intensify cooperation and communication amongst these countries. Sharaf reviewed the preparatory steps of forming the Ethiopian-Egyptian committee that will be chaired by each country's Prime Minister during this month. The meeting also discussed preparations for holding a three way committee among Sudan, Egypt and Ethiopia. This committee will evaluate the negative impacts of the Ethiopian millennium. The means of development concerning training courses and programs that are provided to the Nile basin countries was also discussed. Other issues that were discussed included joint projects in the fields of agriculture, water resources, irrigation, heath, telecommunication, security, environment, education, electricity, and the mutual trade support. The meeting also praised the efforts of the Egyptian-Sudanese committee in trying to fill the gap between Egypt and Ethiopia.
