CAIRO: Egyptian Al-Wasat Party sent U.S. ambassador Margaret Scobey a letter calling her to issue an immediate statement about Anne Patterson, likely the next U.S. ambassador to Egypt. Patterson announced before the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations that the United States has spent 40 million dollars on 600 different Egyptian entities in support of democracy since the January 25 Revolution. Therefore, the party has called upon Scobey to issue a list of all entities that took U.S. money, in order to achieve transparency and adhere to Egyptian Law.
