The Muslims Brotherhood's guidance office held its first meeting on Wednesday after the Parties Affairs Committee accepted the establishment of the Justice and Freedom party, the first political entity recognized by Egypt's government. The meeting witnessed the discussion of three important issues. The first being how to ensure the independence of the party in its political and administrative decisions, and how to support cooperation and coordination between them in different governorates. It also discussed harnessing the administrative offices to serve the new party in the governorates. The second issue included setting a date for the elections of the group's Shura Council to choose three successors for Essam al-Erian, Mohamed Saad al-Katatni and Mohamed Morsi in the MB's guidance office. They abandoned their positions as members of the guidance office after taking a leading role in the Justice and Freedom Party. Mohamed Morsi became the president of the party and al-Erian is his vice president, while al-Katatni is the secretary of the party. The third issue discussed was the group's candidates who will run for the next parliamentary elections in September. The list of the candidates has been prepared by internal elections held recently in different cities, constituencies and governorates. The fourth file included the dialogue between the MB opened with the National Assembly for Change. The dialogue aims at forming a national alliance and a unified list of candidates to run for elections.
