Egypt's Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) announced that it will utilize all its capabilities against deviant groups that threaten the security of Egypt. The SCAF said on its Facebook page that the security and economic problems Egypt is facing are a direct result of conspiracies against the country created by its enemies, as evidenced by attempts to cause a rift between the nation and the army as well as causing internal conflicts within the army itself. These conspiracy attempts began though acts of aggression, such as highway robbery and intimidation of citizens, and has developed to calculated attacks on police stations and the spread of dangerous rumors which were the root cause of recent outbreaks of sectarian violence, which have been spread by both Christian and Muslim extremist factions. The SCAF called upon all Egyptian citizens to act with awareness and responsibility. The SCAF has been charged with Egypt's administration since the resignation of its former leader, Hosni Mubarak, in February. It frequently uses Facebook to disperse communications to the Egyptian people.
