Egypt goalkeeper Ahmed Al-Shennawi concedes that the talks with Lierse have yet to become official, few days after revealing that he had been contacted by the Belgian side's boss Hany Ramzy. Al-Shennawi, on a season-long loan from Masri at Zamalek, stated four days ago that he could well join Lierse after his former Egypt U-23 boss Ramzy, who was named manager last week, asked him to join the Egyptian-owned club. “The Lierse link is still no more than a verbal talk, nothing official has been received from the Belgian club," Al-Shennawi told FilGoal.com. “In case the domestic league in Egypt is resumed, I will remain at Zamalek and honestly that's what I want." The future of the domestic league remains under scrutiny as the Egyptian FA awaits the approval of authorities to kick off the competition in December. Al-Shennawi, currently considered as backup for Egypt number one Essam Al-Hadari, is expected to face tough competition from veteran Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed in Zamalek goal.
