The Egyptian Premier League has been put back two weeks due to uncertainties surrounding the domestic competition. The fate of the league was to be determined by the newly-appointed FA board this week following eight months of suspension in the wake of February's Port-Said disaster. It was set to be resumed on October 17, but it seems a further delay in kick off has been forced due to issues related to security and broadcasting. “There is nothing ready to allow the league resumption as initially scheduled," FA board member Mahmoud Al-Shami told FilGoal.com. “The Ministry of Interior still didn't consent the kick off date, there are also problems related to broadcasting rights. Plus, not all stadiums are ready to host competitive games. “The national team will also play a friendly game against Tunisia on October 16, thus it's impossible to kick off the league the next day. The FA, led by newly-hired chairman Gamal Allam, has yet to make an official announcement regarding the postponement. The major hurdle to the league resumption is well understood to be the ultras fans objection to the competition's recommencement before justice is served for the victims of the Port-Said disaster.
