Mido says that the sanctions imposed on his former Egypt teammate Mohamed Abou-Treika by Ahli were enough. Abou-Treika was heavily fined and handed a two-month club ban for pulling out of the Super Cup win over ENPPI in support of the angry fans who wanted the game called off. The decision was accepted by the highly-respected Egypt star, despite speculation that a much bigger sanction was on the cards. “As usual Ahli dealt with the situation in a very professional way. They handed him a heavy fine and a two-month ban and that's enough," Barnsley striker Mido told Al-Hayat TV. “When a player is at fault, he shouldn't get more than what he deserves. This is always a problem in Egypt. “When someone does well, people keep on praising in an exaggerating manner and when he makes one mistake, they want to slay him. “I think Abou-Treika is a great player who has achieved a lot for Ahli and Egypt." Mido, who is nursing a long-term thigh injury, played alongside Abou-Treika in the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
