Ahli have announced several sanctions against star midfielder Mohamed Abou-Treika, including a two-month ban for refusing to play the Super Cup game against ENPPI. The Cairo club said on their website that the management has decided to suspend the legendary number 22 from competitive games for two months, plus imposing a hefty EGP 500,000 fine against him. He has also been deprived of wearing the captain's armband, although he already comes after skipper Hossam Ghaly and his deputy Wael Gomaa. The disciplinary action comes as a result of Abou-Treika's decision to pull out of the ENPPI game in support of the angry Ahli fans who rejected restarting domestic football before 'justice is served' for the Port-Said disaster victims. First time Commenting on the sanctions, Ahli football director Sayed Abdul-Hafiz said: “Abou-Treika's history and outstanding disciplinary record have been well considered here. “This is the first time for him to be at fault since wearing the Ahli shirt, but there are club values and principles that must be respected as well." Abou-Treika, who joined Ahli in 2004, has been anything but a trouble-maker since his move from Tersana. He will now miss Ahli's Champions League game with Zamalek this month, as well as the Reds' start to the 2012-2013 league campaign in mid-October.
