The Egypt Olympic team concluded an unimpressive Arab Cup of Nations with a 1-1 draw against Lebanon in the final group game. As both teams were already eliminated, a mediocre match took place in Jeddah as Egypt gave away the lead for the third match running. Smouha star Ahmed Hamoudi scored from the spot to give Hany Ramzy's side a first-half lead after veteran Ahmed Eid was brought down. But with nine minutes to go, Lebanon equalized through Akram Maghrabi to get their first point of the tournament. Iraq drew with Sudan to finish as group leaders and eliminate the latter even though the Sudanese were unbeaten in three games. Hosts Saudi Arabia, Morocco and Libya complete the last four.
