Olympic team eliminated from Toulon friendly tournament despite 3-2 win over Japan on Sunday

Egypt's Olympic team has been eliminated from Toulon's friendly tournament despite their 3-2 win over Japan in their third match on Sunday.
At the tournament, held in preparation for the 2012 London Games, the young Pharaohs lost the opener 3-0 to the Netherlands and drew with Turkey 1-1 in the second match.
Harras El-Hodoud forward Ahmed Eid Abdel-Malek, one of Hany Ramzy's three over-age choices, scored the opener for the Egyptians in the 32nd minute, while Petrojet striker Marwan Mohsen delivered a second goal four minutes later.
The Japanese team dominated the final minutes of the first half, scoring twice. Zamalek's Salah Soliman, however, gave Egypt a last-minute victory after scoring a third goal in the 73rd minute.
Despite the victory, Egypt failed to clinch a place in the tournament's second stage, as they equalised with Turkey for Group A's second place with four points (two behind leaders Netherlands), but Turkey ended up winning the qualification on goal difference.
