Egypt forward Mohamed Salah was on target in his first game with Basel as the Swiss side opened their pre-season campaign with a 4-2 defeat to Steaua Bucharest. Salah, who played the 90 minutes for Basel, scored his side's first goal when the Romanian giants were 2-nil up. The Egyptian wonderkid was one of five players who have featured for the whole game, eventually earning the praise of his manager Heiko Vogel. "Salah has clearly shown what harm it could cause the opponent," Vogel told Basel's website after the game. Basel's next warm-up game will be against German side Unterhaching on Tuesday.
