Egypt starlet Mohamed Salah is set to start a week-long training with Basel as he dreams of representing the Swiss giants in next season's UEFA Champions League. The 19-year-old is poised for a big summer move from Egyptian league strugglers Arab Contractors, who are believed to be in advanced talks with Basel, despite interest from Espanyol. He has been given a major boost ahead of his one-week spell by scoring twice for the Egypt Olympic team against Heiko Vogel's team in a friendly game on Friday. Salah, regarded by many as the potential replacement of Basel's departing star man Xherdan Shaqiri, seems optimistic about his future with the 14-time Swiss champs. Very happy “I am very happy to score two goals against Basel. It was a special game for me,” he was quoted as saying by Basel-based paper Bazonline. “Everything is clear between me and Basel, it looks very good. But the decision remains in the hands of my current club Arab Contractors. “I surely want Basel. They are expected to be champions and it is a dream for me to play in the Champions League.” When asked about other suitors, Salah replied” Espanyol, but I prefer Basel. I think my prospects are better here.”
