Zamalek lead a list of Egyptian clubs banned from making new signings due to their failure to provide the wages of their own players, the Egyptian FA said. The FA stated that the clubs - including five top-flight teams - are prevented from registering new players unless they resolve their own financial issues. The list - led by Zamalek - included Smouha, Military Production, Ghazl Mahalla and Arab Contractors, who have just sold striker Mohamed Salah to Basel for a fee of €2.2million. Other clubs are Olympic, Suez Cement, Telecom Egypt, Hammam, Suez and Nasr – who all play in the second division. Zamalek have just signed Burkina Faso international Abdoulaye Cisse on a free transfer from Masri and are in talks with Egypt keeper Ahmed Al-Shennawi. The Whites' financial problems saw a number of first-team players file complaints against the club, threatening to rescind their contracts unilaterally. The internal issue involved the likes of Amr Zaki, Mohamed Abdul-Shafi and Mido.
