The potential sanction of suspending Masri for one year would not be enough for Ahli, according to the Reds football director Sayed Abdul-Hafiz. Masri are set to learn their fate after being involved in the disaster that rocked Egypt last month, leaving more than 77 fans dead at their home stadium in Port-Said, following a league match with Ahli. “I wonder how football officials in Egypt would be thinking of if Masri were just handed a one-year ban,” Ahli football director Abdul-Hafiz told FilGoal.com. “What's worse than killing people should they do in order to get an extreme punishment? “We will never give up on the rights of martyrs. Masri club and fans should get the extreme punishment because they caused the disaster.” It has been widely suggested that Masri are facing relegation to the second division, amid continuous protests in Port-Said refusing any sanction against the coastal club.
