Harras Hodoud maintained their superb winning streak as they cemented their position at the summit after downing Police Union 2-0 in Alexandria. Mohamed Shaarawi opened the scoring six minutes from the hour mark before Ahmed Eid wrapped up the win on 68 minutes. It is the sixth victory in a row for Tarek Al-Ashri's men; their best ever run in the top flight since being promoted in 2002. The Alexandrians remain top on 19 points, four ahead of second-placed MCDR who held on to a goalless draw at Ismaili. The resilient MCDR managed to hold their hosts in a game that witnessed late controversy as the Dervishes had a big penalty shout that was waved away by referee Samir Osman. The draw left Ismaili in eighth place with 11 points, but they still have two games in hand including a rescheduled clash with holders Ahli.
Elsewhere, Bani Suef Telephones edged Arab Contractors 1-0, thanks to a fabulous goal from Ahli loanee Ahmed Shokri. ENPPI-Degla thriller In Cairo, ENPPI and Wadi Degla played out a 3-3 draw in an enthralling affair that saw the petroleum side salvage a late equalizer after falling twice behind. Egypt striker Ahmed Abdul-Zaher opened the scoring for ENPPI three minutes from the half-hour mark before Degla midfielder Ashour Al-Taqi restored parity ten minutes later. Former Ahli employee Mostafa Shebeita earned Degla the lead at 55 minutes but striker Ahmed Raouf brought his side level. The visitors restored their advantage one more time, courtesy of a goal from ex-Zamalek midfielder Hassan Mostafa before the cup champions secured a share of spoils nine minutes from time, thanks to another strike from Raouf. ENPPI remain languishing in 15th place on five points from seven games, while Wadi Degla are 10th with ten.
