The Egyptian FA has decided to fine Zamalek and Ahli for their fans' use of fireworks in respective league matches. The sanction was toned down by the Egyptian football governing body after fans' persistence to light canisters as the infringement now costs a club EGP 20,000 per match. Consequently, Zamalek were fined EGP 70,000 for fireworks in away games at Smouha and Arab Contractors, in addition to offensive chants and using laser pointers at the latter's ground. League holders Ahli, who had a bye this week, were fined EGP 20,000 for use of fireworks in last month's win over ENPPI. In the same FA report, ENPPI coach Mokhtar Mokhtar has been fined EGP 5,000 for protesting against the referee of his side's match with MCDR on Wednesday.
