Gouna have set up an Egyptian Cup quarter-final meeting with Zamalek after beating Asyut Petroleum 7-6 on penalties, following a superb 3-3 thriller. The Hurghada club had goalkeeper Mohamed Mokhtar to thank for saving a decisive spot kick from Asyut's Ashraf Arab in the round of 16 clash. Gouna came back from behind three times to deny the second-division side, who almost caused a big upset in Asyut. The home side were in front with a goal from Omar Fouem on 18 minutes but Ibrahim Al-Hilali equalized for Gouna 20 minutes later. Arab restored Asyut's lead on 72 minutes, but former Zamalek defender Amr Al-Safti cancelled him out with his debut goal five minutes from time. Two minutes later, Moatamed Mohsen gave Asyut the lead for the third time, only for Al-Hilali to peg back again on injury time. It is the first time for Gouna to reach the cup quarter-finals.
