Ahli boss Manuel Jose explained why he opted not to discipline Amir Sayoud for his penalty fail in the recent 4-0 win over Kima Aswan. Sayoud almost spoiled Ahli's victory with a moment of awkwardness when he unsuccessfully tried to trick the opposition keeper, only for him to spurn the spot kick in bizarre fashion. Even though the match was virtually over with the score 4-0, Jose appeared to be fuming on the touchline, before virtually deciding that the incident was enough for the Algerian starlet. “I've spoken to Sayoud a lot about what happened,” Jose told reporters ahead of Ahli's Champions League trip to Wydad Casablanca. “But I think the mockery he was subjected to through local and international media during the past couple of days was enough, that's why I decided not to punish him.” Sayoud is believed to be unhappy with his lack of first-team football at Ahli, even though Jose spoke of his admiration to the 20-year-old's talent on several occasions. The former ES Setif youngster, who has been overlooked in Ahli Champions League roster, was loan-listed this summer in an attempt to offer him some playing time.
