Bosnian manager Vahid Halilhodzic has been named Algeria manager, following the resignation of Abdelhak Benchikha. Benchikha stepped down after the Desert Foxes were thumped 4-0 by Morocco in a CAN 2012 qualifier, almost ruling them out of contention to qualify for the finals. Halilhodzic, 55, signed a three-year contract with the North African nation, meaning he would stay until the 2014 World Cup finals. The former Yugoslavia international is set for his second experience in Africa, having led Ivory Coast to the 2010 World Cup finals.
