EGX ends in red on August 20

Egypt's main stock index fell on Wednesday, with broad-based declines across the market.
The benchmark EGX30 shed 1.02 per cent to close at 35,731.83 points, while the EGX33 Shariah index lost 1.23 per cent to 3,587.89 points. The EGX35-LV fell 1.34 per cent to 3,801.51 points.
Among smaller stocks, the EGX70 index of SMEs dropped 1.06 per cent to 10,693.56 points, while the broader EGX100 slipped 1.15 per cent to 14,323.57 points.
Total market capitalisation stood at 2.49 trillion Egyptian pounds.
By investor group, Arab investors were net sellers with 365.7 million pounds, while Egyptians and non-Arab foreigners were net buyers of 123.8 million pounds and 241.8 million pounds, respectively.
Top gainers
1. Shares of National Housing for Professional Syndicates soared 20.00 per cent to close at 63.670 Egyptian pounds a share.
2. Shares of El Arabia for Land Reclamation jumped 20.00 per cent to close at 153.730 Egyptian pounds per share.
3. Shares of Saudi Egyptian Investment and Finance surged 20.00 per cent, closing at 92.340 Egyptian pounds a share.
Top losers
1. Shares of Sinai Cement dived 7.64 per cent to close at 56.800 Egyptian pounds a share.
2. Shares of Gulf Canadian Real Estate Investment Co. sank 7.14 per cent to close at 1.820 per cent a share.
3. Shares of Cairo Educational Services lost 7.04 per cent to close at 42.100 Egyptian pounds a share.
