Egypt's stock exchange (EGX) ended the week in negative territory on Thursday, with the main index and broader benchmarks posting moderate losses. The benchmark EGX30 index dropped 0.78 per cent to close at 35,576.42 points, while the EGX33 Shariah-compliant index declined 0.39 per cent to 3,618.63 points. The EGX35-LV index fell 0.55 per cent to 3,807.60 points. Meanwhile, the EGX70 index for small and medium-sized enterprises edged down 0.12 per cent to 10,607.85 points. The broader EGX100 index slipped 0.17 per cent to end at 14,236.18 points. Total market capitalisation stood at 2.49 trillion Egyptian pounds. Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers, offloading 7.04 billion and 21.7 million pounds worth of shares, respectively. In contrast, foreign non-Arab investors were net buyers, with a total purchase of 7.06 billion pounds. Top gainers 1. Shares of Samad Misr -EGYFERT soared 20.00 per cent to 208.590 Egyptian pounds a share. 2. Shares of October Pharma jumped 19.99 per cent to close at 150.400 per cent a share. 3. Shares of Alexandria New Medical Centre climbed 19.97 per cent, closing at 35.620 Egyptian pounds. To losers 1. Shares of Saudi Egyptian Investment and Finance sank 6.24 per cent to 83.010 Egyptian pounds at closing. 2. Shares of Northern Upper Egypt Development and Agricultural Production dived 4.89 per cent to close at 2.920 Egyptian pounds a share. 3.
