The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed higher on Tuesday, led by strong buying activity from non-Egyptian investors across key indices. The benchmark EGX30 index surged 1.58 per cent to 35,254.18 points, supported by gains in heavyweight stocks. The low-volatility index, EGX35-LV advanced 1.37 per cent to 3,805.7 points. The EGX33 Shariah-compliant index rose 0.58 per cent to 3,569.58 points, while the EGX70 index, which tracks small and mid-cap stocks, gained 0.90 per cent to 10,489.79 points. The broader EGX100 index added 0.85 per cent to close at 14,118.11 points. Market capitalisation reached 2.45 trillion Egyptian pounds. Arab and non-Arab foreign investors were net buyers, with net purchases of 396.9 million pounds and 2.21 billion pounds, respectively. Meanwhile, Egyptian investors were net sellers, offloading a total of 2.61 billion pounds. Top gainers 1. Shares of El Kahera El Watania Investment soared 15.59 per cent to 80.210 Egyptian pounds a share. 2. Shares of Al Tawfeek Leasing Company-A.T.LEASE climbed 11.62 per cent to close at 4.130 per cent a share. 3. Shares of Alexandria National Company for Financial Investment jumped 10.45 per cent to 45.340 Egyptian pounds. To losers 1. Shares of Cairo Educational Services dived 5.10 per cent to finish at 39.650 Egyptian pounds at closing. 2. Shares of Misr Cement (Qena) sank 4.75 per cent to close at 79.150 Egyptian pounds a share. 3. Shares of Egyptian Iron & Steel edged 4.24 per cent lower to end at 32.320 Egyptian pounds a share.
