Ittihad manager Mohamed Amer was forced to halt the team's training for around 30 minutes after the home fans made insulting chants against next opponents Ahli. FilGoal.com correspondent in Alexandria said that the Ittihad supporters were supposed to be encouraging their team, before turning against the league holders. Coach Amer, a former Ahli striker, opted to stop the session and urged supporters to stop the offensive chants, only for them to turn against the manager himself. The situation was about to escalate but stewards were there to interfere and control the home fans at Alexandria Stadium. In an ugly scene a week ago, Ittihad fans invaded the pitch to assault their players following a 3-1 defeat at Gaish. Ittihad, who claimed their first win in seven months against Masri last week, will visit second-placed Ahli on Thursday in an attempt to improve their position in rock bottom. Meanwhile, Effat Sadat has been named interim chairman of Ittihad ahead of the elections in two months' time.
