Egypt were drawn against North African neighbors Sudan in the second qualifying round of the 2012 Olympic Games. The Olympic team, coached former Egypt defender Hany Ramzy, eliminated Botswana with a 3-2 aggregate victory in the first round. They will now have to get past Sudan in order to make it to the group stage of eight teams, after which three teams will go through to the London finals. The tie will be played over two legs in June, with the first game to be played in Khartoum on the 3rd/4th/5th of the month.
