Zamalek have decided to move their CAF Champions League home game against Kenya's Ulinzi Stars to Libya, amid the ongoing state of turmoil in Egypt. The Cairo club said they have accepted an invitation from the Libyan FA to stage the first-round second-leg tie in Tripoli on the 25th of January. “We moved the Ulinzi match to Libya because of the critical security situation in Egypt,” Zamalek chairman Galal Ibrahim told FilGoal.com. “We sent our thanks to the Libyan FA for the two proposals made by Ittihad and Ahli clubs of Tripoli to stage the match at their respective home stadiums. “The Libyan FA now have the choice to select the venue for the game.”
Zamalek have all but made it to the round of 32 as they boast a comprehensive 4-0 first-leg away lead over the Kenyan minnows. Zak back Meanwhile, striker Amr Zaki has managed to return to Cairo after facing flight problems back from Qatar in the wake of the recent uprising in Egypt. The 27-year-old forward completed a successful rehab program that saw him nurse a troublesome knee for the past couple of months. He should be available for Zamalek's next game, which could well be against Ulinzi as no date has been set by the Egyptian FA to resume the domestic league yet.
