Egypt U-17 came from behind to beat their Senegalese counterparts 2-1 in their African Championship opener on Saturday.
Senegal took the lead after 20 minutes from a one-on-one chance before Mahmoud Abdul-Monem restored parity six minutes past the hour mark with a follow-up effort.
Substitute Mohamed Adel hit the winner for the Pharaohs on 83 minutes shortly after his introduction upon releasing a powerful shot from outside the area.
Elsewhere, hosts Rwanda defeated Burkina Faso by the same scoreline.
