Ahli coach Manuel Jose was warmly received by hundreds of the club's supporters upon his arrival at Cairo airport on Wednesday in spite of strict security measures. Members of controversial fan firm Ultras Ahlawy were among the Red Devils' devotees who attended the flamboyant reception. They lit flares and held aloft banners that read greetings, while security personnel were keen to keep them away from the Portuguese tactician. Jose, who seemed to be happy by the exciting reception, took charge of the Egyptian champions for the third time on Saturday. It's widely believed that the former Benfica boss is capable of leading a turnaround in Ahli's fortunes after they suffered from a string of poor results on all fronts over the past months.
