Ivorian midfielder Remi Adiko, who is no longer a forgotten figure, is eager to help Zamalek win the Egyptian Cup title to present it to his wife. Adiko has struggled to establish himself as a first-team starter since joining Zamalek last summer after his contract with Algeria's ES Setif expired. He could not even break into Zamalek's squad for the majority of their league games but was given a new lease of life by coach Hossam Hassan recently. He made some substitute appearances and managed to score his maiden goal with the Cairo giants during their 3-1 league victory over Masri earlier this month as they finished runners up to champions and arch-rivals Ahli. Zamalek still have the Egyptian Cup to play for. A triumph in the country's secondary domestic competition will give Adiko the perfect chance to reward his wife, who is about to give birth. "I want to win my first title with Zamalek to gift it to my wife because she will give birth next month," he said on the club's official website on Monday. The 28-year-old joined the queue of Zamalek players who paid tribute to Hassan for turning around their fortunes. "I'm very grateful to Hassan. He helped me regain my self-confidence after a difficult period," he said.
