Ivorian attacking midfielder Marcel Adiko has become Zamalek's latest close-season acquisition, the club announced on Saturday. "He signed a four-year deal today," Zamalek spokesman Sabri Serag told the club's official website. Adiko has convinced coach Michel Decastel he was good enough to play for Zamalek after undergoing a trial at the club. The 27-year-old joined the White Knights on a free transfer after his contract with Algeria's ES Setif expired. He becomes the second foreigner in Zamalek squad after the club signed Ghanaian international midfielder Ibrahim Ayew. New chairman Mamdouh Abbas is spending big in the close season to help the Cairo giants end their Egyptian league drought. They last won the prestigious title in 2004. Zamalek, who managed to keep hold of star striker Amr Zaki, have also landed Middlesbrough frontman Mido. They then decided to release Brazilian striker Anderson, who failed to prove his worth in pre-season friendlies.
