Ahli have enquired about the possibility of signing Ittihad's deep-lying forward Mohamed Nagi 'Geddo', the Alexandrian club said on Thursday. "The marketing director of Ahli phoned me today and said his side are interested in signing Geddo," Ittihad chairman Mohamed Moselhi told a news conference. "My club want to keep hold of Geddo until his contract expires in July 2012 but we will sit down with him when he returns from Angola to know his aims for the future." Geddo was included in Egypt's squad for the African Cup of Nations after putting in some fine displays in the first half of the Egyptian Premier League. He netted four goals and dished out several assists to help Ittihad, who usually struggle at the wrong end of the table, enter the mid-season break in ninth place. The 26-year-old scored on his international debut to give Egypt a 1-0 victory over Mail in the United Arab Emirates in their last game before heading to Angola to defend the title they won in 2006 and 2008. He could seek to enhance his growing reputation by leaving Ittihad for a bigger club in the January transfer window. "Joining Ahli would be a good move," Geddo told FilGoal.com after he was informed that the Red Devils were looking to sign him. "However, I will not rush into a decision on my next destination, I may have a chance to play abroad following the Nations Cup."
