Juventus defender Chiellini on United radar

Manchester United are seeking to sign Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini in the January transfer window, according to News of the World.
The Red Devils have the majority of their defenders out of action through injury, which obliges head coach Alex Ferguson to hand Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher defensive roles.
Now the English champions are looking to bolster their rearguard with new signings.
Chiellini has won praise after a string of impressive displays in the Serie A, and could well put an end to United's worries over their deflated backline.
However, the Premiership giants will have to outbid city rivals Manchester City, who are also said to be interested in the services of the 25-year-old.
