Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has been ruled out for the next six weeks with a broken bone in his foot. "Michael Carrick, as you know, it's not worked out for us. He came off on Saturday and he's got a crack in his foot," manager Alex Ferguson told Skysports.com on Tuesday. "It was diagnosed on Sunday afternoon and he'll be out for four to six weeks, which is not good news." The England midfielder sustained the injury while playing against Liverpool last Saturday. Ferguson will have to do without suspended Paul Scholes, injured Dimitar Berbatov, and Carrick when United face Villarreal in the Champions League opener on Wednesday.
