Ahli assistant coach Alaa Maihoub believes that the Red Devils defeated ENPPI 2-0 partly because of the latter team's defensive lapses. "Both teams were well-prepared for the game," he told the Cairo giants' official website. "When we took the lead ENPPI changed their strategy to equalize, hence their defensive problems appeared. "The introduction of Ahmed Hassan and Mohamed Fadl is definitely another reason why we won." After a goalless first half, former Ismaili striker Fadl notched the opener on the hour mark, and Egypt superstar Abou-Treika wrapped up the win in the 78th minute. Egypt skipper Hassan replaced mercurial midfielder Barakat right after the break, to help Ahli dominate in midfield during an eventful second half.
