Abdul-Hamid to learn fate on Wednesday
Published in FilGoal on 20 - 10 - 2009

Ahli football director Hadi Khashaba says the Cairo club will decide on Wednesday which action to take against unsettled goalie Amir Abdul-Hamid, following his rift with boss Hossam Al-Badri during training.
The substitute keeper swore at Al-Badri when he knew that he was left out of Ahli's squad for Monday's league game against Mansoura, which the Red Devils won 2-1.
Subsequently, Ahli initially handed Abdul-Hamid an indefinite suspension, and they are yet to decide on his final sanction.
"This is no longer an issue. The football committee will convene on Wednesday to make a final decision about it," Khashaba told FilGoal.com
No Apology
On the other hand, Abdul-Hamid denied apologizing to Al-Badri for his misconduct as recently reported.
"I didn't do anything wrong to apologize, I have been treated unfairly but I preferred to remain silent because I'm a loyal homegrown player," he said.
"I'm really frustrated over what's going on. I haven't made any troubles throughout my 20-year stay at Ahli.
"I would like to once again ask Ahli's fans and officials to make allowance for me, because I'm really psychologically unstable in these days."
Abdul-Hamid has been consistently criticized for failing to impress after becoming Ahli's first-choice goalie, following the sudden departure of Essam Al-Hadari to Swiss side Sion in February 2008.
A string of poor displays prompted the Egyptian champions' former coach Manuel Jose to rely on Ramzi Saleh in the latter stages of last season, but the Palestinian guardian was hardly convincing.
Ahmed Abdul-Monem, who used to be a third-choice keeper, is now the regular starter for Ahli.
Media reports mentioned that Ahli are planning to offload Abdul-Hamid in the winter transfer window.
The 30-year-old custodian revealed that he would either move to the US or join another Egyptian Premier League outfit.
