Barcelona are still hoping to bring back Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal, although Gunners manager Arsene Wenger repeatedly turned down their approach in August. The European champions were persistent in their attempt to land their former prodigy during the summer, and now it seems they will try again in the January transfer window. "He's a player who fits the Barca profile," he said of Fabregas to Spanish paper Sport. "He was born suckling on football here and one day he will end up playing at the Camp Nou. I am sure. "There are options for us to strengthen (the squad) yes. "We will see if any of our defenders can play in central midfield. It's an option. Depending on that, we could look to buy a forward." Barcelona will miss midfielders Yaya Toure and Seydou Keita in January, as the duo will join their respective national sides for the African Cup of Nations. Central midfielder Fabregas, who came through Barca's youth ranks, joined Arsenal from his hometown club in the summer of 2003, looking for a chance to play regular first-team football. Over the past years, the 22-year-old managed to establish himself as a key figure at the London outfit.
