Egypt U-20 coach Miroslav Soukup needs to understand that winning a game doesn't make him beyond criticism. The young Pharaohs have pulled off a praiseworthy win over Italy in the U-20 World Cup, and yet, they will need to overcome their weaknesses if they are to compete for the title. Recurrent defensive lapses, wingers' incompetency, lack of speed and players' tendency to show off their skills are obviously the main problems in the team. But when reporters asked Soukup about some of these undeniable drawbacks during the post-match press conference, he was 'surprised with the questions'. The Czech tactician was irritated because several reporters pointed at the shortcomings of the team, despite the fact that his men beat the European giants. Soukup has achieved his short-term objective, which is qualifying for the round of 16, but that should never be a reason to turn a blind eye to the team's disadvantages. These problems exist regardless of the results, and Soukup has to come up with the appropriate remedy and realize that there's absolutely no room for complacency. He also has to be aware that with this attitude, the Egyptian media will show him no sympathy should Egypt lose in the advanced stages of the competition.
