Egypt U-20 coach Miroslav Soukup found just one reporter to write down his notes about Monday's game against Paraguay at Cairo Stadium. FilGoal.com's Hatem Maher was the only media representative at the pre-match conference. The other attendants were the U-20 World Cup volunteers. The Czech tactician, who guided Egypt to a convincing 4-1 victory over Trinidad and Tobago in the tournament's opener, did not seem distracted by the reporters' no-show. "Paraguay are our toughest opponent in this group. We watched DVDs of some of their games and are ready to face them," he said. Soukup participated in a promotional campaign for the Pharaohs ahead of the second-most important FIFA tournament that is taking place in Egypt. One of the commercials saw the 43-year-old watch a movie at a theater and make noise while drinking a carbonated drink to irritate a man sitting in front of him. "Keep it down! We can't hear anything," the man, who did not know that Soukup was Egypt's U-20 team manager, told him. The campaign was intended to encourage Egyptian fans to support the team and get familiar with the players and technical staff. A huge number of supporters flooded the 80,000-seat Egyptian Army Stadium in the opening game against Trinidad but few reporters follow the team's press conferences. In his few words, Soukup said he would make some changes to the team who outclassed Trinidad but declined to reveal any names. He also responded to a question about the inaccurate crosses of Egypt's full-backs Islam Ramadan and Ali Mohamed. "I can't blame them for that because their primary duties are defensive ones," Soukup concluded. FIFA's representative then kept asking whether there were any more questions but his calls were to no avail because the hall was nearly empty.
