Roma captain Francesco Totti held the referee responsible for the Giallorossi's opening day defeat to Genoa on Sunday. Roma were punished by a late Giuseppe Biava strike, shortly after the Genoa defender avoided a certain red card for bringing down Jeremy Menez. "It was shameful. It is incredible what the referee gave as an explanation," said the former Italy international. "When we asked why Biava had not been sent off, he said it was because the ball was too high and therefore it was not a last man foul. "Either I missed a bit of the rulebook somewhere, or that was a clear and obvious red card offence." Roma will host Serie A contenders Juventus in a crunch game next week.
