Talented striker Mohamed Zidan didn't show up at Egypt's training camp, which is held in preparation for the Pharaohs' friendly game with Guinea on Wednesday. Assistant coach Hamada Sedki told FilGoal.com the Borussia Dortmund man should have arrived on Monday, but so far the coaching staff members have no idea where he is. "We don't even know whether he arrived in Egypt or not," Sedki said. "His mobile phone is switched off, so we know nothing about him." Hassan Shehata's assistant said the Egyptian FA would take legal actions against Dortmund if it turned out the German side kept Zidan from traveling. "He (Zidan) will be questioned if he's to blame for the unauthorized absence, but if Dortmund are responsible for that, we will act accordingly," Sedki added. Dortmund's official site confirmed that Zidan is on international duty though, along with several players from the team.
Emam (L) Egypt have a good number of missing strikers, which makes Zidan's absence more crucial. Influential frontline trio Amr Zaki, Emad Meteb and Mido have all been ruled out of the game through injury. Hamstring Strain Apart from Zidan's unknown whereabouts, Zamalek's promising right-back Hazem Emam has been excluded from Egypt's squad due to a hamstring strain. "Emam sustained the injury before taking part in the training camp, but he didn't say anything," Egypt's doctor Ahmed Maged stated. "It was obvious that something was wrong with him, and when the injury was confirmed the coaching staff omitted him." The up-and-coming wide man should undergo further medical examinations soon to determine the full extent of the injury.
