Egypt assistant coach Hamada Sedki reiterated that Mohamed Zidan wasn't called up for the Pharaohs' World Cup qualifier at Zambia next month. The Borussia Dortmund man was snubbed for Egypt's 1-0 World Cup victory at Rwanda in the qualifying stage after failing to show up for a friendly against Guinea last month. Recent media reports suggested that members of Egypt technical staff contacted the 27-year-old to discuss his possible return to Egypt fold, but Sedki denied the widespread claims. However, he said that Zidan would be welcomed to make his international comeback once he has explained why he missed the Guinea match. "We haven't settled things down yet," Sedki told FilGoal.com. "All we are asking for is an explanation for his behavior; hence his return would be materialized." But Sedki said in the same breath that Zidan most probably won't make the squad for the Zambia trip, as the coaching staff had already announced the final list of players. "Zidan is unlikely to play against Zambia, but we have enough frontline options," he elaborated. "We have Amr Zaki, Ahmed Raouf, Dodi Al-Gabas and Salah Amin. "It's time now for the inexperienced players to prove that they are as competent as the regulars."
